Finance Business Partner  | Preston  | £45,000 – £50,000 + benefits package      

The Opportunity

Impressive, modern, tech-led SME with a vibrant and upbeat culture have an exciting and rewarding new role for a finance business partner.  

It’s a growth business based South of Preston, Lancashire.  The role is genuine FBP rather than financial reporting or control.  No month end, no stat accounting or financial reporting.  Lots of added value analysis, lots of ad hoc projects, lots of working with non finance colleagues up to Director level within commercial, sales and marketing teams… 

All of your time is spent digging into commercially meaningful MI and speaking to the business to challenge decisions and create the bridge between the finance and the rest of the Senior leadership team. 

This is a forward-thinking and ambitious SME, a market disruptor circa £20m turnover with a strong and aspirational management team.

It’s a business facing role and you need the appetite and communication skills to get out into the sales, marketing and commercial areas of the business.  

You’ll be all over margin and profit reporting, customer activity & trends, promotional evaluation, competitor activity, sales and forecasts, new product performance, marketing projects, sales incentives, new market penetration, website analytics, advertising ROI…. 

There’s bags of data to drill into and loads of added value insights to deliver and discuss- ultimately your time is spent on helping the business grow faster and more profitably.  

Required: 

• Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills and success in a finance business partnering / senior management accounting / commercial accounting / project accounting role.  
• Confidence when challenging the status quo and supporting profitable decision making.  
• Great analytical skills and excellent common sense.  Ability to spot trends and ask insightful questions of those around you and of the numbers.
