The opportunity

This is an exceptional role if you are a Finance Business Partner / Senior Management Accountant considering a progressive new challenge. This role is heavily focused around adding value and making a difference within a fast pace, forward-thinking and expanding PLC.  You’ll be working in a flagship large subsidiary (£200m+ turnover) of an international manufacturing group.

You will be highly business facing and work closely with the operational functions of the business as a genuine finance business partner.

You will enjoy

You’ll be joining a group with a culture of continuous improvement – a market leader that strives for excellence – you’ll be involved in lots of exciting and interesting projects designed to drive improvement, increase profit and support further growth.

There is support where required from an ambitious and inspirational head of finance, but this role has refreshing levels of autonomy and real opportunity to make a huge difference.  Your efforts and achievements won’t go unnoticed and a succession plan is in place to allow you to progress your career swiftly.

You will work at a diverse and modern manufacturing site and enjoy really getting under the skin of the business.  You’re focus is supporting the operational leadership team at the site to drive performance, manage and control cost, retain margin and optimize profitability.

You’ be shining a bright light into material and labour variances, capex and automation plans / ROI business cases, yield and waste-age MI, cost trending, margin and profit drivers etc.  It’s highly business facing and you’ll be someone who loves being in the daily and weekly meetings as a true business partner to the site.  It would suit an accountant with natural commercial acumen and a genuine interest in business.

Previous experience of a production / manufacturing setting would be hugely beneficial – it would suit someone who enjoys the cut and thrust of a site environment… a setting where you can see and feel a tangible product and an environment where you can bring the numbers to life.  This is a business where your MI, insights and discussions make an actual difference and you can change decisions which you will see translate into the downstream P&L.

We are looking for someone who is excited by that! Someone who will enjoy seeing their discussions result in different trends.

Your role will involve producing and presenting lots of meaningful and insightful reporting.  You will support, challenge and ultimately influence decision making and be a finance sounding board for the leadership team locally. A major springboard for further progression in an international group.

You will need

  •          Previous experience of a modern and innovative manufacturing environment – ideally as a proactive management accountant / business partner.
  •          To have completed CIMA or ACCA.
  •          To be someone who enjoys influencing positive change & continuous improvement.
  •          Have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to get on well with colleagues in production areas (up to executive level).
  •          Have keenness to learn, develop and progress your own career.
  •          Have an ability to provide truly insightful reporting that will allow the business unit to grow further.
