Modern, forward-thinking, and highly respected independent firm of accountants have an interesting opportunity for an experienced semi senior/bookkeeper. You’ll join a collaborative and upbeat team within an acquisitive business that is investing in growth and excellence (for them and their varied client portfolio).
You’ll be working with some really interesting clients and their portfolio is extremely broad (sole traders, partnerships and ltd companies across a total myriad of sectors ranging from £1m – £50m turnover). You’ll enjoy plenty of variety, being part of a lovely team and superb work life balance.
It’s a practice with a reputation for quality, honesty and a partnership approach to accounting. They don’t cut corners or put you under pressure to send work out that is inaccurate or rushed. The important thing for the owners is that the employees and the clients they work with feel valued and prioritised.
You’ll be getting stuck into preparing finalised accounts, VAT returns, basic tax calcs and all-round bookkeeping. You will ideally have used cloud-based software (Sage or Xero) previously.
You need to have previous practice experience. You’ll ideally be AAT but qualified by experience is also fine. You need to be able to demonstrate success in a similar role within practice.
- Great communication skills.
- Confidence when working with a broad range of clients.
- Xero or Sage experience.
- Good understanding of accounts preparation and double entry.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage your own workload effectively and calmly.
- Being a team player who will make a brew when it is your turn!
