The Opportunity

You’ll be joining a modern group amid of period of exciting transformation and change. The business is transitioning to a financial shared service model and currently at the front end of the design, plan and build. It’s a significant and high profile transformation journey for the group and a great time to join. 

An interesting and key project role within the leadership team – reporting directly to the Head of the Financial SSC.

There’s chance to make a real impact and your remit will focus on adding value and driving through change during the set up and optimisation of the SSC.

Your focus will be RTR – you’ll work with stakeholders across the business to ensure that a strategy and plan is in place to ensure a smooth transition to a ‘best in class’ SSC environment. You’ll integrate existing team members into the new structure and build the squad – instilling a culture of absolute excellence.

You’ll be a naturally engaging character with great interpersonal skills. Someone with excellent coaching / mentoring ability and someone who will enjoy working with others to bring the plans to life.

You’ll being extensive existing knowledge of high performing financial SSC and have experience of building RTR / managing transformation within that area. You’ll be someone who prides themselves on the ability to bring out the best in others and create collaborative and cohesive teams.

Key to success is the ability to guide, mentor and develop the team. You’ll be working with Team Leaders / Managers to agree core areas of focus, critical metrics & KPIs, commitments and key milestones for delivery. You’ll be an encouraging, open and professional leader with natural gravitas.

You’ll be someone who can create ‘buy in’ and manage stakeholder relationships across the group (and with external consultants). You’ll be someone able to bring the strategy to reality and make the tactical decisions that ensure the new function is established as efficiently and effectively as possible.

You’ll need great communication skills and be someone who enjoys solving problems in a measured, calm, diligent and proactive manner.

This is a chance to make a real difference and be part of a varied, challenging and rewarding 12 month project – ultimately playing a vital role in establishing a high functioning SSC for an expanding PLC.

Hybrid working – Nottinghamshire 2 -3 days per week with occasional travel to other sites / subsidiaries across the UK.

Required:

  • Previous experience within a professional SSC environment. Excellent understanding of RTR.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of owning transformation and change within the SSC – ideally previous experience of establishing / centralising RTR.
  • Confident IT / system skills (perhaps experience of an ERP install / migration).
  • Outstanding leadership ability – a naturally proactive approach to developing people around you and providing accessible and focused mentoring.
  • Strong up to date knowledge of best practice within RTR.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
