Finance Manager | Sheffield (North) | £38,000 – £40,000 | Part or Full Time considered 

The Opportunity

A growing specialist, professional services business based in Sheffield is looking for a driven Finance Manager to join their team, taking full responsibility for the finance function.

This is a standalone role in a growing SME, with real opportunity to add value, be involved in the strategy and growth of the business and work in a dynamic environment where no one day looks the same.

The Role

You will be the sole finance contact for the business, responsible for the full finance function, while working alongside external accountants at year end. There is plenty of added value project work to get stuck into alongside the ‘business as usual’ day to day.

Your remit will include:

• Full bookkeeping and financial control
• Project level budgeting and P&L management
• Cashflow forecasting across multiple live projects
• Raising and managing invoicing 
• Supplier payments and cost control
• Small payroll administration
• Month-end reporting and management accounts
• Supporting contract pricing and financial proposals

The leadership team want better visibility of project margins, pricing drivers and building standardised costing models. They need someone who can analyse the numbers, not just produce them.

You will need to have:

• AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience)
• A strong SME finance background
• Experience producing management accounts and forecasts
• Great Excel skills
• The confidence to work autonomously, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement across controls and processes
• Commercial awareness and the ability to communicate financial insight clearly
• Experience in a project-based, consultancy or service-led environment would be particularly useful.

This would suit someone currently operating as a senior bookkeeper, finance officer or Management Accountant who wants more ownership and influence in a smaller business.
