Longstanding manufacturing group based in Derbyshire are seeking a dynamic, driven Assistant Management Accountant to join their team as a result of continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking finance function that’s investing in people, processes, and long term growth.

As an Assistant Accountant, you’ll work closely with Senior finance team members, supporting across purchase ledger, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end processes. This role offers broad exposure and the opportunity to grow into more senior responsibilities over time.

Your remit will include:

• Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and related query resolution
• Produce purchase ledger and month-end reports.
• Support balance sheet reconciliations, cost analysis, and intercompany transactions.
• Manage and review expenses ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Assist with statutory returns, audits, and ad hoc finance projects.
• Provide support in the ongoing development and optimisation of SAP.

Alongside the “business-as-usual elements”, there are plenty of added value projects to be involved in, and exposure to the wider finance function including budgeting, forecasting, stock reporting and producing detailed management information.

You need to be proactive, self-motivated and keen to learn and progress, someone who wants to grow with the role and take on more responsibility.

You will need:

• Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent experience in a similar role within purchase/ sales ledger).
• Strong IT skills (SAP and Excel ideal).
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.
• Desire to progress and study towards CIMA
• The ability to work on own initiative and improve efficiencies where recognised
