The Opportunity

Is ‘making a difference’ high on your agenda? Are you looking to step into your first FC role? Are you looking for work life balance – a position that is predominantly home based?

We are partnering with an exciting growth SME within the specialist care sector – making a real difference to people’s lives. They provide vital services to the people and families they support and your inputs will play a key part in ensuring that the business can operate as effectively and diligently as possible.

It’s a group that is brilliantly managed, professional – extremely highly regarded in their sector. They pride themselves on the service they provide and their reputation for excellence.

You’ll be a strong support to the talented group FD. She’s great, highly approachable, high integrity – a mentor who can give you encouragement, support, autonomy…. And ultimately someone who will value your efforts and achievements.

It is a varied role as ‘number 2 in finance’ – a real chance to add value both to the business and in turn to their service users / community. The remit includes board pack production and presentation (for multiple sites / care centres in the UK). Detailed variance analysis, management accounting and MI production.

You’ll be technically solid with a commercial awareness – someone who can confidently present numbers and discuss trends with a non finance audience.

Fundamentally it’s just a great culture, a business that values people in every sense of the word.

Head office based north-west, nestled between Liverpool and Preston – salary circa £50,000 – £55,000. The role is home based but you have freedom to work from any of their sites or the HQ.

Brilliant role for a credible qualified finance professional looking for a setting that will give them a genuine sense of making an impact through their efforts and financial guidance / management / control / reporting.

You need:

  • To be qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
  • To have a track record of success in financial management / financial control or senior management accounting.
  • To have great people skills – you’ll work closely with leaders / cost centre managers across to group and a vital financial sounding board.
  • To have good analytical skills and firm core accounting knowledge (either from industry or practice).

It’s a setting where you can feel truly proud of your inputs and make a proper difference – it’s not simply about driving profit – you need to have compassion and balance in your approach here.
