The Opportunity

You’ll be working for one of the UKs most successful FMCG groups – a highly innovative, fast paced and growing PLC with an enviable array of ‘household-name’ customers. 

Your role is pivotal – you’ll be Finance Manager / Financial Controller within one of their largest subsidiaries (£200m+ turnover business unit of the FTSE 250 group).

Your remit is broad and vital – supporting the head of finance with the smooth management of month end.

You’ll be leading a diverse team (12 in total) which includes financial accounts and the transactional teams locally (AP and AR).

Your remit includes management accounting, overhead analysis, capex, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and statutory accounting.  You’ll be a technically confident finance professional who enjoys leading teams.

The role would suit someone who has qualified ACCA or ACA within practice or industry.  You’ll have previous experience in a senior financial accounting / financial management or FC role.   You’ll be a natural leader who enjoys bringing out the best in others.

You’ll be someone who can confidently discuss financial reports with a non finance audience and someone who enjoys speaking to colleagues across other areas of the business.

It’s a broad and interesting role with plenty of added value projects to get stuck into alongside the business as usual reporting / timetables.

You need:

  • ACCA or ACA and a strong record of success in a financial management / financial control position.
  • Experience of a large business (£100m + turnover ideally).  Experience of leading a team (1-2-1s, appraisals, recruitment, coaching etc.)
  • A good understanding of all aspects of month end close for a reasonably complex business that operates at pace.
  • A track record of achievement and improvement – this is a setting where your new ideas will be welcomed and implemented.
