Modern rapid growth tech business based in York have an interesting and varied opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant / Finance Assistant to join on a permanent basis.
You’ll be working for a group amid an exciting phase of change, growth and investment. They are expanding into new global markets, launching new products and services and partnering with a host of exciting high profile new clients.
You’ll be reporting directly to the financial controller – assisting with all aspects of the monthly accounting and reporting processes, controls and procedures.
It’s a hands on role with plenty of breadth – you’ll enjoy the right level of autonomy coupled with mentoring and support wherever required.

The remit: assisting with month end close and management accounts prep, reconciliations (bank and balance sheet), VAT returns, accruals and prepayments, review of transactional processing etc.
It would suit someone enthusiastic and proactive, someone keen to learn and develop within an ambitious agile SME.
- To be studying toward an accounting qualification ideally.
- Relevant practical accounting experience (as Finance Assistant / Assistant Accountant etc).
- Great Excel skills.
- A calm and measured approach to learning new tasks – you’ll be someone who is unafraid to ask questions and pick up new challenges.
- Confidence when working in a diverse team which will include colleagues from a non finance background (in commercial and operational functions of the group).
